An agitated man in the Wileville area led to RCMP being called late last night.
Lunenburg District RCMP released a statement today saying they received two separate complaints from concerned citizens on Highway 325 in Wileville last night.
An unknown man came to the back door of a residence around midnight demanding to use the telephone.
The man claimed he had been run over by a car.
When the resident offered to make a call for the man, he became agitated, yelling at them before leaving.
While police searched the area for the man, they were advised by another resident the same man came to their door demanding to use the telephone.
After he was denied access to the home, the man began yelling at the resident and then started walking north on Highway 325.
RCMP patrolled the area, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, however the male was not located.
Checks to local hospitals also failed to locate the man.
“If someone comes to your door seeking your assistance or wanting to use your phone, it’s your decision whether or not to let them in,” said Lunenburg District RCMP Sgt. Mark MacPherson in a media release. “There is nothing wrong with telling the person to wait while you call 911.”
The man is described as being in his early twenties, short in stature, having short dark hair and wearing a dark jacket.
Anyone with information about this man is asked to call Lunenburg District RCMP at (902) 527-5555.
