The warden of Annapolis County is thanking firefighters who worked to contain forest fires over the past couple of weeks.
In an open letter, Warden Reg Ritchie expressed sincere gratitude to the firefighters who stepped up and gave so much of themselves to keep people safe and protect forests.
Ritchie says the determination and perseverance of firefighters is remarkable and that people are proud of them.
He says their dedication is immeasurable; they are deeply committed to their service, the area they call home, and the people who live here.
The fire burned over 400 hectares of forest in Annapolis County.
Crews are still monitoring fires contained at Seven Mile Lake and Maitland Bridge.
