Yet another bank is shutting its doors for good. This time, it’s the last one in town.
BMO in Mahone Bay will close for good on June 19. If you’re a customer, you’ll now have to travel to Bridgewater to do your in person banking. This is just one of many branches that have closed across the South Shore over the past few years.
A big reason is that online and in app banking has really taken over, replacing the need to visit a physical branch. Still, it’s an inconvenience for a lot of people, especially those who rely on in person service.
As you can see from the clip below, the Mahone Bay branch has been there for over 125 years.
