The Chester community will come together as part of a National Art Project by Mosaic Canada Murals.
The Municipality received the invite to take part, and with a strong arts character, it just makes sense for Chester to be a part of this national project.
It’s a giant mural made up of thousands of individually painted tiles from communities right across the country and Allan Webber, Warden for the Municipality of Chester, says they’ll have a key part of the finished product.
“The one we’re building is exactly 600 tiles, four by four inches, and the artists who are sort of overseeing this entire project will take the first 200 tiles and work them into a concept, or image,” says Webber. “Then the other 400 tiles are just filled in with whatever it is somebody thinks the Municipality of Chester means to them, or feel like painting.”
Sackville is the only other Nova Scotia Community participating in the project.
