Atlantic Chamber On Carbon Pricing

It’s going to cost more to do business when the 10 dollar a ton carbon tax comes into effect in 2018 according to the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber’s Vice-President of Policy, Glenn Davis says businesses hope the carbon tax will be offset by reductions in other taxes that take money out of the pockets of consumers.

The 10 dollar a ton carbon tax pales in comparision to Sweden’s carbon tax of more than 200 dollars a ton.

There’s one estimate that 800 million dollars a year in revenue could be generated in New Brunswick with the carbon tax by 2022.
