Lunenburg’s mayor says 40 new jobs at one of the area’s largest employers is great for the community.
High Liner Foods will be hiring over the next several months.
The company is moving the positions from their fish plant in New Bedford, Massachusetts after ceasing operations.
Rachel Bailey says High Liner has been involved in the community for a long time.
“And, to have them adding to their workforce is a wonderful development for Lunenburg and the Lunenburg area.”
Bailey says adding full-time work in rural Nova Scotia could attract more people to Lunenburg.
