In MHL playoff action last night in Truro, the Bearcats edged the South Shore Lumberjacks 2-1 to grab a 3-2 lead in the best of seven first round series.
The Lumberjacks led 1-0 after the first on a goal from Alex Rawding.
The ‘Cats tied the game in the second before Eli Jarvis potted the winner midway through the third.
Truro goalie Jacob Fancy was the game’s first star, making 36 saves while Adrian Clark made 29 saves for the South Shore.
Game six, a must-win for the Jacks, goes tomorrow at 7 o’clock at the LCLC in Bridgewater.
Elsewhere, the Valley topped Pictou County 4-1 and Woodstock dumped Dieppe 5-3.
The Crushers and Slammers lead those series 3-2.
Also, the Summerside Western Capitals forced a seventh game with a 3-1 win in Campbellton.
