It’s a trip back in time and a window on the history of Shelburne County.
The Black Loyalist Heritage Centre officially opens in Birchtown on Saturday.
The $7 million centre features exhibits, artifacts and tells the story of the Black Loyalists settling in Birchtown in 1783.
Shelburne Mayor Karen Mattatall says the centre will be a great addition to the community.
“It is going to be a wonderful asset to the community and certainly for people who, in the past, have not be able to find their geneological roots.”
CKBW/CJHK will have coverage of the opening for you, including some video and reaction which you will be able to find here.
The event begins Saturday morning.
