Bluenosers End Canada Winter Games with 11 Medals

Nova Scotia athletes have returned home from the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta.

Bluenosers ended the competition on a high note with two more medals, bringing Nova Scotia’s total medal count to 11.

On the final day, alpine skier Shane Sommer of Port Williams, captured a gold and the women’s curling team including Taylour Stevens of Chester, earned a bronze.

Stevens, along with Vincent d’Entremont of Hebbville, and Tia Wamboldt of Bridgewater brought medals home to the South Shore.

Team Nova Scotia sent about 300 athletes, coaches and managers from across the province who competed in 21 sports.
