BREAKING: Lumberjacks Deal Scapped

A deal that appeared to be imminent for the sale of the Bridgewater Lumberjacks to a local buyer has crumbled. It’s been a week and a half since the team was taken over by the Maritime Hockey League after the former owner didn’t pay bills at the club’s home facility. Larry Creaser of Marriott’s Cove was in final talks to purchase the club. However, talks broke down in the eleventh hour. Creaser tells our newsroom that his bid didn’t receive the financial backing needed to acquire the team. The Maritime Hockey League will continue to operate the club until further notice.
