Kids are getting a chance to participate in more after-school activities.
The Nova Scotia government is providing over $16,000 in funding to schools in Lunenburg County.
Almost $9,300 will be split to offer outdoor and nature-based activities at Hebbville Academy and Petite Riviere Elementary.
Bridgewater Junior-Senior High is receiving $6,757 for outdoor and indoor programs and nutrition classes.
Meanwhile, another $6,080 was given to Barrington Municipal High School to offer mountain biking sessions.
The funding is part of the ‘After the Bell’ initiative, aiming to increase physical activity in youth ages 12 to 15-years-old.
