Bridgewater Approves $19-million Budget

The Town of Bridgewater is investing more than $5.5-million in capital projects in their 2016-17 budget.

The final numbers were approved Monday night.

The biggest chuck of funding will be going to the Take Back The Riverbank project.

However, Mayor David Walker says they have their eye on other important improvements.

“A big one is to separate storm and sanitary [water],” he says. “Reduce the number of, I guess, overflows with the system not able to handle it with just one pipe.”

The $19-million operating budget did not include a tax hike for home owners or businesses in Bridgewater.

They’ll continue to pay $1.65 and $3.99 per $100 of assessment for another year.
