Students from Dalhousie are working on plans for the closed arena in Bridgewater.
The school of design approached council about the Memorial Arena late last year.
Mayor David Walker says it’s an opportunity to hear some unique ideas.
“It’ll be interesting to see what the masters students come up with,” he says. “A lot of them have a diverse background in design, and in their personal lives. So, it will be interesting to see what exactly they see.”
Walker says they’ve also received one expression of interest for the property.
However, he says the town doesn’t want to move forward until they hear from the students.
They are expected to present their proposals at the end of March.
