There will be no Community Christmas Dinner this year in Bridgewater. Organizers have decided to cancel it after there was no significant interest to plan the dinner. Volunteers were hoping to get other people involved after organizing it for the last five years. Mayor David Walker says the dinner brought people together. He says, “There are people in the community that this is a big celebration for them. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate with the community. There are those who have their family here but choose to take advantage of the Community Christmas Dinner and celebrate in that fashion.” The event was organized by several volunteers, with hundreds of residents attending every year. There is still hope the dinner will be back in 2015.
