Bridgewater Gets Ready For Next Phase Of ‘Take Back The Riverfront’

Bridgewater is moving one step closer to taking back the riverfront.

The town is looking for a construction company to upgrade sewer lines and build a new public space on King Street.

The project began last fall when the south parkade was torn down.

Spokesperson Patrick Hirtle says they know people are anxious to see work resume.

“Everybody’s gung ho, and they want to know what the details are and when things are starting,” he says. “But, the truth is, until we get that contract signed, all we can do is assure the public that once we know, they will know.”

Hirtle says they hope to start construction in April.

The project is expected to cost around 5-million dollars.
