Bridgewater drivers rejoice.
King Street is reopening to two way traffic.
The final layer of pavement and paint went down at the beginning of last week.
Town Spokesperson Patrick Hirtle says the delay was strategic.
He says they were waiting for the traffic lights to be reconnected at the corner of King and Dufferin streets.
“We’ve still got one three way stop in the downtown, so that’s at Old Bridge and King, but our traffic authority was concerned that he didn’t want two three-way intersections.”
Hirtle says there is still work going on in the public space along the waterfront.
But he says that should impact traffic in the downtown core.
