Bridgewater: Michelin Looking Forward To Long-Term

It’s been a fixture in Bridgewater since 1969 and provides employment to roughly 1,200 people.

The plant manager of Michelin provided an update on operations to business leaders this week.

Lisa Hayes says more than $100-million has been invested into the local facility.

She says Bridgewater is a strong community.

“The increases in local businesses, the increase in additional industrial sites in the area is something we absolutely encourage.”

The local plant is considered a training ground for people from China, France and Italy.

Hayes says roughly 50 local graduates from NSCC last year transitioned into leadership roles at the plant.

She points to their record of more than five years without serious incident as a staple of their safety practices.
