Bridgewater Police Looking For By-Law Officer

The Bridgewater Police Service is looking for a by-law enforcement officer.
The position opened up late last November after the previous officer, Scott Norwood, was hired as a constable.
The officer enforces activities in town like the dog by-law and parking.
Deputy Chief Danny MacPhee says it made sense to hire someone this time of year.
“We ran it vacant at this time because there is no parking in December, so there were no parking issues tying up our members. You also don’t get as many calls for dogs out causing issues.”
MacPhee says having a by-law officer will give police more time to investigate criminal matters.
The position is expected to be filled by early February.
