Bridgewater Police Raid Marihuana Dispensary

A search of a marihuana dispensary led to the arrest of two adults and the seizure of a large quantity of cannabis products.

Bridgewater Police Services raided Greenway Wellness Centre on December 20.

A variety of marihuana products, including hash, shatter, THC infused edibles, and THC infused dog treats, were seized.

An adult male and female face multiple charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking marihuana as well as cannabis resin.

The two were arrested at the scene and later released.

They’re due in court on February 26.

The dispensary was oeprating on High Street in Bridgewater after relocating from their King Street building, which was destroyed in a fire in October.

The business was running without an operating permit from the Town of Bridgewater, something they had been cited on in their previous location as well.

Some dispensaries argue they operate in a grey zone due to impending pot legalization.

However, the province says marihuana will only be sold at NSLCs and dispensaries are illegal.

Right now the only way to purchase medical cannabis is through Health Canada’s mail order service.
