A store in Bridgewater is being recognized.
Canadian Tire is receiving an award for helping people with disabilities gain work experience.
Margaret Matthews is the Executive Director of the Employment Solutions Society who are giving out the award.
She says hiring an employee with a disability isn’t something to be afraid of.
“It’s a win/win for both the client and the employer,” she says. “A lot of our clients are very dedicated employees and they become a very valued employee.”
Matthews says work placements can have a big effect on the employee too.
She says most feel a huge boost in confidence.
The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday.
