Bridgewater Volunteer Firefighters Compete At Combat Worlds

It’s been dubbed the toughest two minutes in sports.

But that isn’t stopping a pair of Bridgewater volunteer firefighters from competing.

Ryan Buck and Steve Freeman are in the U.S. this week at the Firefighter Combat Challenge World Championships in Montgomery, Alabama.

Buck says he’s looking to run under one minute, 40 seconds and become a member of an exclusive club, known as the Lion’s Den.

It rewards firefighters who break that time with a coin, sticker and a lifetime jacket.

Both men have been training for weeks and are looking forward to the challenge.

Buck and Freeman are expected to run individually between today and Wednesday to try and qualify for the finals.
