A renewed effort to establish a wildlife bylaw in Bridgewater has fallen through the cracks. Council voted to remain without a bylaw after a few councillors tried to explore the option. Some residents are upset about people feeding raccoons and attracting more to the area. However, Mayor David Walker says it’s only a few people voicing their opinion. He says, “I received a number of emails and saw some postings on the town of Bridgewater Facebook page, some people thought it was a good idea but don’t think we need a bylaw.” Walker says one problem they are having is bylaw enforcement and who would be in charge of policing the issue. The town plans on having thorough discussions on its bylaws this month.
