The current general manager of Queens Place Emera Centre is making a change.
Steve Burns will move to the economic development department within the Region of Queens Municipality.
He will continue to market and promote the municipality in the new role and try to attract concerts and other events.
Burns says he enjoys working and interacting with the public.
“It’s really a great social atmosphere and that’s going to continue. A large part of my role will still be here at Queens Place and I’m really excited about that. It’s really the silver lining for me.”
Burns will be replaced by Meaghan Roberts, who will be the director of recreation and healthy communities.
He believes Roberts will fit in perfectly.
“The strength of an organization allows us to be making these moves and Meaghan certainly is wonderfully deserving. She has a lot of work ahead of her but she has a strong team behind her.”
Roberts has served with the Region of Queens for almost 10 years in roles including municipal physical activity coordinator and
program coordinator for Queens Place.
Both will start their new positions on April 3.
