There’s plenty to do on the South Shore for Canada Day tomorrow.
But it’s safe to say Canada Day is kind of New Germany’s thing.
Kathy Moore is the chair of the New Germany Canada Day Committee.
She says it’s her community’s biggest celebration of the year.
“I think it`s a bit of our history and it’s a great day,” she says, adding that the community always gets behind it.
Moore says it’s all about keeping the activities central and having an ongoing schedule throughout the day.
Celebrations start tomorrow with a breakfast and continue with parades, kids events, food vendors, yard sales, and ends with fireworks at 10 pm.
This year they’ve spent over $10,000 on what Moore promises will be a ‘phenomenal’ fireworks display.
“There are people that just come for the fireworks, you can just see them coming in droves and our grounds are packed, it`s packed,” says Moore.
