A listener texted us this dilemma:
I think I’m in a job that doesn’t suit my skill set. The problem is it’s a good paying job with a wonderful boss and coworkers. My job also makes a real difference in the community for many people.
The reason I say it doesn’t suit my skill set is that I’m a very organized procedural person who likes to map out the big picture while the job often demands that we meet urgent situations at a moment’s notice, and that’s where I struggle to meet those unexpected demands. I like control and this job is making me feel like I’m dealing with constant chaos.
Is there a way to learn or manage these feelings and learn to embrace the constant change of course?
