Carter’s Beach continues to see upgrades.
The latest issue to be addressed is a lack of washrooms.
A port-a-pottie has been installed by the Region of Queens Municipality.
Mayor Christopher Clarke says people have raised health concerns around the lack of facilities.
Clarke says even though the province is responsible for the beach, the municipality wanted to help out.
“It’s not our land, it’s not our responsibility but we are in fact working to resolve the problem.”
Clarke says the number of visitors has increased dramatically and he wants to find a permanent solution before next year.
“We’re in great hopes that we can work something out with the government to put in a proper parking lot and a proper toilet facility. It’s got to happen.”
The port-a-pottie will be maintained by the municipality and will be in place until Labour Day.
