A sombre council met yesterday morning in the Municipality of Chester.
It was the first time the group of six have gathered since Councillor Bob Myra passed away suddenly two weeks ago.
Warden Allen Webber says his presence will be greatly missed. He says the municipality has no plan to fill Myra’s seat before the election in October.
“We will do our level-best to represent the interests of this community,” he says, “and I would hope there would be no hesitation on their behalf to contact one of us and we’ll do our best until somebody else is [elected].”
Council held a moment of silence before starting the business of the day.
Myra died days before his 71st birthday.
