Chester: Council To Discuss Former Gold River School Future

A decision is looming for increased costs at the former Gold River Elementary School.

The bill is pegged to increase from $917,000 to roughly $1.5-million.

A new sprinkler system needs to be installed and one of the reasons for rising costs.

Warden Allen Webber says council will have to make a choice.

“It’s going to cause us to take a look at what the options are because it’s significantly more than we ever anticipated spending.”

Other options include adding on to the administration facility and keep using the annex building.

Council will discuss the matter on Thursday morning.
