It’s an initiative to raise the profile of women’s hockey.
The Chester Flurries atom team is taking part in ‘The Long Game’ tomorrow as part of World Girls Hockey Weekend.
It starts in Newfoundland and runs through almost every province and territory, ending at 3 p.m Pacific time in B.C.
Female Director for Chester Minor Hockey, Tanya White, says female hockey has grown since last year.
“Chester and the South Shore had one female team each. This year, we have two each. It’s grown quite a bit and it’s growing down in Yarmouth as well and in Shelburne and Liverpool.”
The local game begins at 10 a.m tomorrow morning in Chester with the Flurries playing the Valley Wild.
Each team will wear red or white and the score will carry forward from each game until the final one, where a winner will be determined.
