Chester Power Outage Causes School Closures

There’s a power outage this morning in Chester and two schools are closed for the day as a result. Nova Scotia Power says about 1230 people are affected in the Robinson Corner area. NSP says the outage is a result of a lightning strike overnight. They hope to have the power back on by 12:30. As a result, Chester Area Middle School and Chester District Elementary are both closed for the day. Meanwhile, there is also no power in the Barrington, Clarks Harbour and Cape Sable Island areas. 2,000 people are affected. NSP hopes to have the power back on there by 10am.
