It’s the best month yet for a wind turbine in Chester. The municipality is reporting the highest revenue for the turbine at the Kaizer Meadow landfill. It became operational in January. It generated $66,000 in October. Warden Allen Webber says it’s nice to see. He says, “It’s the first year of operation, you are going to have your issues in the first year primarily and I think by the end of the year we will be close to on target but I won’t be shocked if it’s under because these are 20 year projections based on seven years of data and on any given year the wind is going to be different.” He says they hope to solve a few issues with Nova Scotia Power and its equipment moving forward. Councillor Andre Veinotte also expressed his desire to get more frequent updates on the turbine. A performance report is expected at council next month.
