A proposed cut to the Film and Television tax credit is concerning at least one Nova Scotia municipality.
The province is in a tough financial spot and is considering cutting the credit as part of their budget deliberations.
CAO of the Municipality of Chester Tammy Wilson says it’s concerning news.
She says, “The film and television industry does provide a significant contribution to our economy locally, regionally and provincially and we’re concerned about the impact.”
Wilson fears without this credit, they will lose a number of agencies that film in their part of the region.
They will outline their concerns in a letter to Nova Scotia’s finance minister.
