A close call between a child and a car has RCMP reminding parents they are responsible for ensuring children wear helmets.
The 12 year old boy was not wearing his helmet Friday while riding his scooter along Highway 3 in Robinson’s Corner .
He was riding on a two-wheeled, non-motorized scooter when he struck the side mirror of a vehicle.
Lunenburg District RCMP arrived on the scene are around 3:00pm but the boy had already left.
He returned to talk with police and was treated for minor injuries by EHS.
The driver of the vehicle is not expected to face any charges.
Lunenburg District RCMP’s Sgt. David Ferguson says parents need to talk with children about scooter/bicycle safety.
