The MLA for Clare-Digby is joining cabinet.
Premier Stephen McNeil announced Gordon Wilson as the new Minister of Environment during a brief ceremony Wednesday morning.
McNeil says Wilson is a “dedicated, hard-working legislator and he looks forward to him serving Nova Scotians in the new role.”
Wilson was elected in 2013 and replaces Margaret Miller who is focusing more on her constituency while recovering from a recent arm surgery.
She announced previously that she will not run in the next election.
Wilson’s appointment is effective immediately.
