Competition Aims To Help Community Recreation

Active living programs could be getting a big boost from an unexpected source.

With communities often facing decreased funding for recreation, one competition is aiming to help those in need.

Project Play is a contest put on by Kraft-Heinz encouraging Canadians to nominate local play places for a facelift.

Spokesperson Linda Ferendini says they want to make it easy for people to make healthy life choices.

“There’s financial pressures, these facilities are expensive to maintain. So lets do our part and get Canada engaged and excited in a fun way to keep those community facilities going.”

The grand prize is $250,000 towards an upgrade.

Nominations will be accepted until June 12th.
