So how does this happen?
Maybe someone opened up an account for you when you were a kid and forgot to tell you. You never know…
The kinds of money they track includes regular bank accounts, as well as money orders that never got picked up, even positive credit card balances.
The central bank’s Unclaimed Balances site will let you trace it and claim it.
It’s pretty simple to use, you just type in your name, and it will tell you if there is anything there. If there is, than you will have to have ID and go through a process to claim it. To check click HERE!
Unfortunately, I did not have a fortune waiting for me. There is one account though, that’s sitting with $888 million it….could you imagine?
