What’s better than a trip along Nova Scotia’s South Shore? A trip along Nova Scotia’s South Shore with your furry friend of course! These days we are more attached to our pets than ever and thankfully more and more places are accepting of us bringing them along on our vacations. Here are some great dog friendly stays on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre
No one loves a treasure hunt and a good dig in the sand more than your puppy! The Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre welcomes both cats and dogs on their property. There is a pet fee of $35.00 per stay which is beyond reasonable. Pets must be on a leash in public areas and are not allowed in the restaurant, bar or pool areas. The property is quite large so there is lots of space for your dog to stretch their legs and you are very close to great walking trails as well.

White Point Beach Resort
The White Point Beach Resort near Liverpool, Nova Scotia loves pets so much that they even have an off-leash dog park area that is fenced in called, Little Barker’s Dog Park. White Point allows both cats and dogs on property with the fee being $40 per stay and you must inform them of pets coming with you when booking. On property they have many different room styles and currently pets are only allowed in the White Point Rooms and some of the cottages. Be sure to keep that in mind when booking.
White Point is also known for wild bunnies all over the property so be sure to keep your pets on a leash at all times in public areas. Also grab some bunny food from the front desk to feed the cute little fuzzy guys if you get a chance as well.

Hook’d Homes Lunenburg
The Hook’d Homes property on Mason’s Beach road in Lunenburg features seven upscale, fancy AirBnB’s right on the ocean. Without a doubt they might be some of the fanciest properties in the province that allow pets (maybe except for the Muir on the Halifax waterfront.)
Each AirBnB comes with pet food bowls, water bowls, and pet beds. They also have pet treats available for free for your dogs as well. There might not be a large yard for them to run and play in here but there are tons of wildflowers for them to sniff and ducks to bark at in the ponds. There are also a couple of dogs that live on site so they are sure to make some great friends as well.
