‘The Lighthouse,’ directed by Robert Eggers will star Twilight’s Robert Pattinson and Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe.
Filming will take place at the Leif Ericsson Park near the Cape Forchu lightstation, where a mock lighthouse and other buildings are being constructed for the set.
A large hangar at the Yarmouth Airport will also be used.
Patti Durkee with the Friends of the Yarmouth Light says the director, producer and crew are looking forward to getting filming underway.
“They were looking for something very specific. It was to our advantage that our lighthouse is not on an island and is totally accessible.”
Meanwhile the area will be off limits to the general public.
Durkee asks fans that may run into Pattinson or Dafoe during their time here to be respectful.
Filming is expected to begin this month and last until mid-May.
