A Lunenburg County snowboarder is a front runner to be named to Canada’s Olympic team. Alex Duckworth of Kingsburg is now the top-ranked Canadian in the women’s halfpipe. She placed ninth at a World Cup event in Quebec over the weekend. The event was the last opportunity for Canadians to secure a spot for the upcoming winter games in Sochi, Russia. The remaining spots for Canada’s snowboard team will be nominated on Tuesday.
