Exterior, Interior Renovations Underway At Park View

It’s been a busy summer for renovations at a Bridgewater high school.

Construction crews have been on site at Park View Education Centre for the last three weeks.

Dexter Construction is completing landscaping work which includes a drop-off area for visitors, away from buses and students.

Operations Manager Brian Smith says it’s been a safety concern in the past.

“We’ve had buses coming in to pick up students while other students are crossing those lines where the buses flow and parents coming in the same direction as the buses.”

That work is expected to be complete before school starts.

The $12.9-million project also includes interior renovations beginning this week and continuing through the school year.

They include upgrades to plumbing and electrical and refurbishing classrooms.

Smith expects minimal distractions to students.

“Some of the work that may be noisy will be done after hours or before hours or on weekends.”

Phased upgrades are planned at the school in the next three years.
