The mayor of Mahone Bay says the town is committed to making a decision on public transit after they know the implications of such a service.
The Citizens for Public Transit group and CBCL Limited conducted market research and a feasibility study on a transit system for Lunenburg County.
David Devenne says most town council members provided their input.
He says they still have questions that need answers.
“The scheduling of the bus service; the availability of the bus service; the routing of the bus in Mahone Bay; and ultimately, what the potential revenue shortfall could be, which is going to have to be paid by the taxpayer.”
CPT and CBCL Limited is holding a public information session Thursday August 29 at 6 p.m at the Bridgewater Fire Hall.
They will present the final report with findings and recommendations.
