First Ever Lobster Crawl Comes To The South Shore

Nova Scotia’s first ever Lobster Crawl starts tomorrow and it’s coming to the South Shore.

Donna Hatt, Tri-Chair of the South Shore Lobster Crawl says it was originally only going to be one week, but there was just too much to do and see.

She says there will be 60 events that include a Lobster Roll Crawl, surfing lessons and new beer flavours inspired by the event.

She is hoping this will help grow tourism in the province.

“To continue to grow that opportunity for employment and revenues,” she says.

“And most importantly, serving up incerdibly experiences that are available year-round, but with a particular focus on winter.”

Hatt says the crawl is in honour of one of the province’s most significant and natural resources.

“That opportunity to raise awareness about our lobstering industry, there’s an incredible appetite for culinary adventures, as well as art music and sporting events that really do take place in winter.”

Hatt says it’s an opportunity to showcase and celebrate loving winter, all focused around the lobster.

She says there will be over 50 Sip and Savour experiences, Lobster Get-aways, sports, music and more.

The Crawl will go from Barrington to Peggy’s Cove until February 19th.
