Five Men Arrested Following Disturbance In Shelburne

RCMP in Shelburne say they’ve arrested five men following a weekend disturbance on George Street.

Police say they received multiple complaints about the racket on Saturday night.

When officers arrived on scene, they allegedly found multiple people yelling and screaming obscenities.

Despite being warned to stop, the behaviour continued, resulting in once arrest for causing a disturbance and public intoxication.

Police returned when the behaviour ramped up again, with four other men arrested.

The disturbance didn’t stop there, with alleged damaged caused to several cells at the Shelburne RCMP detachment.

29 year old Joseph Murdock Hayden faces several charges including breach of probation and mischief and damage to property.

22 year old Cameron Nickerson was arrested on an outstanding warrant and faces a total of seven charges.

Both are still in custody awaiting an appearance in Shelburne Provincial court on Wednesday.

The three other men haven’t been named, and face charges of mischief.

They were released on conditions.
