One of the region’s premiere festivals is gearing up once again.
The Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival will announce their 2018 line up this weekend at their Folk Fiesta fundraiser.
A preview concert will feature Ian Sherwood, Kim Harris and Caribou Run.
The event will also feature live and silent auctions, a 50/50 draw and cash bar with proceeds going to the festival.
Maggie Ostler with Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival says they have a reputation for bringing the best in folk music to Lunenburg.
It also serves as a launching point.
“People have sort of come to trust Folk Harbour to bring some amazing surprises. Maybe a performer that they’d never heard of but just completely knocks their socks off.”
Ostler says the festival is a great place to come and find your next favourite artist.
“We have a track history of doing just that. A lot of the biggest names, particularly in the East Coast music scene, performed on our stage before people knew who they were.”
Doors open for the preview show and fundraiser at 6:00pm Saturday night at the Mahone Bay Centre.
