Former Paramedic Hopes For NDP Top Spot

More than two years after Darrell Dexter stepped down the Nova Scotia New Democrats are on the verge of picking a new leader.

The three candidates were in Italy Cross last night to try to win party votes.

Dave Wilson was one of them.

He says health care is a major issue in the province.

“I don’t have to tell your listeners how important access to primary care and emergency care is,” he says. “As a paramedic I know how important it is to individuals and their families.”

Wilson says he’d like to see government invest money back into providing health care for those who are most at risk.

A new leader will be announced at the Leadership Convention weekend Feb. 27 and 28.
