One man’s dream has helped change the life of countless people.
Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope 37 years ago.
To date, his foundation has raised over $750 million to fight cancer.
His brother Fred Fox was visiting schools throughout the South Shore today talking with kids about his brother, and the legacy he left.

“Terry passed and Canadians responded from coast to coast. They wanted to keep things going. They wanted to fundraise to keep his dream alive, and that’s why we’re here. We could never have imagined that would’ve taken the course that it did.”
Fred credits his mother with keeping Terry’s dream alive.
“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for our Mom. Our mom, in 1981 when Terry passed, she was kind of thrust out there in the public eye. And she spoke about Terry and shared his story. She was really the only one in the family who was doing that.”
Fox says it’s humbling to see kids who weren’t even born when Terry began his run, continue to raise money to fight cancer.
