Funding Push On For Bridgewater Skate Park

The push is on for funding for a skate park in Bridgewater.

Almost $170,000 has been committed to Grinders Square All Wheels Park.

The town of Bridgewater has ponied up $100,000 while the Municipality of Lunenburg is contributed $40,000. There is also $15,000 from Michelin North America.

Another $250,000 is pending between the province and town.

Committee member Eric Hustvedt says they still have about $80,000 to raise.

“We’re going to be pretty door-to-door, office-to-office canvassing people who have been showing support over the years, so, it’s time and effort.”

Construction on a new skate park is expected to begin once $500,000 is collected.

Meanwhile, a temporary facility is located near the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.
