People can help support a local non-profit organization on St. Patrick’s Day evening.
The South Shore Flying Club is hosting a fundraiser Friday evening at 5 p.m at Lane’s Privateer Inn in Liverpool.
The club manages the South Shore Regional Airport in Greenfield after signing a 15-year lease with the Region of Queens last April.
President Glenn Parlee says he hopes to setup hangars and have fuel on site to increase business, attract tourism and make the airport viable.
“We have a lot of interest in that airport. One of the drawbacks right now is that people who want to leave aircraft there, or even fly in, you have to have a place to put the plane and you have to have a place to refuel the plane.”
Any funds raised will go towards that cause.
The fundraiser will include a live band, 50/50 draw, silent auction and door prizes.
