Former MP Jean LaPierre will be laid to rest today in eastern Quebec.
He died in a tragic plane crash along with five other family members. The plane went down in the Magdelan Islands on March 29th. The pilot of the plane was also killed.
Former Liberal MP Dan McTeague remembers LaPierre as a young man on Parliament, “He was a great affable fellow, a decent human being, and this is such a tragic loss. He was able to articulate ideas, thoughts and feelings that people had and did well politically. After politics though, he had a significant life as a political pundit. His position was larger than life for many of us in media and in politics and he will be missed.”
Hundreds attended a visitation yesterday for the LaPierre family
The funeral gets underway at 10am AT.
