Furey Has “Full Confidence” In McNeil As Nova Scotia’s Premier

The MLA for Lunenburg West says he has full confidence in Stephen McNeil as Nova Scotia’s premier.

Speaking recently to our newsroom, Mark Furey says McNeil wants Nova Scotia to be successful across all sectors.

“I’m here because of him and I will stay as long as he is here and the people of Lunenburg West choose to elect me as their representative.”

He says McNeil has been adamant but rattled at times during his more than three years as premier.

Government and the Nova Scotia Teacher’s Union are currently at the negotiating table trying to find a solution to end work-to-rule and reach an agreement.

Furey says he’s optimistic a solution between the two sides will be reached soon.

He says McNeil has a great responsibility to all Nova Scotians to make sure the province improves its financial position.
